HORIZONTAL VACUUM BELT FILTER
Filcare manufacturers and services horizontalvacuum belt filters used in mineral processing , chemical ,
coal processing, fgd, food industry and pharma.horizontal belt filters are widely used for liquid / solid
separation where high production throughput , operational flexibility and adaptability to corrosive slurries
are needed.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
Feed slurry is evenly distributed over the entire width of filter with fish tail distributor. since it is
top feed gravity reduces the vacuum requirement and cake formation time.an endless filter cloth travels
continously which serves as a filter medium.
A rubber belt is used to support the filter cloth. the belt is grooved for filtrate discharge through
the holes provided in the centre of belt.
The belt runs on roller support / air box/ uhmwpe slides and on sealing wear belts which run over
the stationary vacuum box where the filtrate is collected and discharged . the filter cake buils up on
the filter cloth and can be washed by counter current washing.the wash filtrates can be collected
seperately from each process step and further processed. the cake is discharged at the discharge
end with the support of scraper mechanism.the filter cloth is cleaned on both sides with high
pressure spray nozzles before returning to the feed end.
vacuum box is provided with lowering mechanism for inspection of wear strips and adjustment of divider pads.
a automatic cloth tracking mechanism is provided to take care of filter cloth swaying thereby preventing
the need for manual intervention
